Sean truly has a dynamic story. Faced with stuttering at the age of six, he’s always been different. Coming from a family of people who stuttered, he never outgrew his impediment. After multiple sessions with speech therapists, nothing seemed to help. Being tormented in his adolescent years, the emotional baggage and scars of verbal abuse caused struggles with depression. Sean accepted who he was and the stuttering became less severe to even now, many cannot detect it. He knows that it’s okay to stutter and had to change how he viewed speaking. This was a revelation from the Lord and is now a professional speaker. Given his remarkable talent as a speaker being fueled by passion, he wants to share his journey to inspire others. He would have never thought in a million years he would want to speak professionally. You never truly know what your purpose is until it is revealed to you. Sean’s professional experience is in Information Technology with a discipline in Information Security. He has given numerous security presentations to Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers throughout his professional career. He is also versed in security awareness and training along with performing security assessments at various institutions. Sean has managed and led numerous security projects in compliance, security awareness, auditing, and access control. Sean is a member of the National Stuttering Association and is chapter leader for a speech support group called “Speaking Freely.” In addition, he is also a member of Toastmasters International. He’s won several speaking awards and trophies in Area and Division level contests. This was achieved in his first 5 months after joining the club. A milestone only a very few can claim. Currently, he serves as the President of the Associated Black Charities Toastmaster club in Baltimore and is recognized as a Competent Communicator and Competent Leader. Sean received his Bachelors Degree in Information Systems from University of Maryland Baltimore County. He has enjoyed a successful career in Information Technology but has a thirst for speaking. This passion is paralleled with inspiring others to achieve their dreams and goals in the face of adversity. Exodus 4:10-12
